From Dental Bonding To Veneers: Jess’ Case Study
A great smile is always in fashion.
So, people often go to great lengths to achieve that picture-perfect set of pearly whites.
But that pursuit – lofty as it is – can be a difficult one. As much as some try, that dream smile can seem unattainable or like it’s more hassle than it’s worth.
That is, until they find the right practice (and the right treatment).
Such is the case with many of our patients, and Jess – the subject of today’s case study – was no exception.
She wanted to smile like a rockstar, and we helped her attain that smile.
Previous treatments just weren’t cutting it
Jess has always wanted to smile like she meant it.
Unfortunately, however, she had very little luck with previous treatments.
Jess started with dental bonding at previous offices but – while it did its job initially – that bonding done at previous offices had to be redone multiple times due to chipping.
It also suffered from discoloration and just didn’t look great in general.
Besides that, Jess also suffered from misaligned teeth, crooked, awkward spacing, and a poor smile line.
With a track record like that, it’s no surprise Jess felt apprehensive about new treatment prospects.
She was worried about everything: the cost, how much tooth structure would be removed, and the frequently misunderstood ‘Hollywood toilet-white chiclet look’ that veneers used to have.
So, we made sure Jess’ concerns were heard and addressed right away.
Custom ceramic veneers: A surefire path to a beautiful smile
Considering Jess’ numerous serious dental issues, we decided that custom ceramic veneers were the best way to proceed.
With that in mind, we took pre-op photos to show Jess where we could improve things.
Then, we showed Jess examples of our previous cases, including not just what those results normally look like but also how much tooth removal is typical (very little!).
From there, we did a wax-up (i.e. mock-up) in the lab, showing Jess what their smile would look like before we’d even picked up a drill.
That – and Jess hearing Dr. Barakh say how much he loves making beautiful, natural-looking smiles – got Jess’ confidence up and we received the green light.
The good news is that, in this case, we only needed to apply veneers to four teeth to get a dramatic improvement.
So we did exactly that. The new veneers fit like a glove and the rest, as they say, was history.
You can smile like a rockstar too!
After her treatment, Jess was in love with her new smile and couldn’t wait to show it to everyone.
